Question by Gr8n3ss74: Can i sign a check over to a car dealer?
I have a pnc bank check from progressive for my old car that got totaled out and i wanted to use the money for a down payment on a car. Can i sign the check over to the dealer? I have signed checks over to another person to have them cash back when i did not have a bank account. The reason i don’t want to try and cash it at my bank (chase) is because they will put a hold on my check and i need the funds immediately because i have no other vehicle.

Sure, as long as the car dealer will accept the check.
And the check is clearly an insurance settlement, so they really should take the check.

It’s part of my marketing course…
We have to think of creative ways to bring people to a car dealership. I have a few….many of them involving games that start in a mall and end up at the dealership…Do you have any?

My ex works at a car dealership and twice a year they have a big cookout on Saturday. The last one was a fish fry, all the food was free, it got a ton of people to come out and they sold alot of cars that day.

Question by dorkkvader: How do I get a car dealer to give me the best deal?
What is a reasonable percentage I can expect to have a dealer take off of a sales price? How do I get it? What do I need to watch out for so I don’t get duped on things like trade in or rebates? I know that the dealer needs to make money too, but I want the most car for my money. Any and all advice is welcome.
