Question by A: How to find out if a car dealership is a good or bad before buying?
In a few years I want to buy a new car but I want to find out either from online or at the local library if a dealership is honest or not. How should I go about doing this? are there certain websites to check out other than BBB?

I’m trying to get into the business of selling exotic cars like Ferraris and Lamborghinis.
How do private dealers get financing or the money to acquire these type of cars?
How do they make a profit?

They get them by buying them. The make a profit by selling them for more than they paid for them. Any type of financing would be a loss of profit, so most do their own financing or have some sort of business relationship with someone or some business that has money.
You have to know the exotic car market better than you know what is in your fridge to be successful. I suspect you have much to learn. Good luck.

It’s at the dealer AGAIN right now waiting to be fixed.
The horn, Steering wheel buttons and interior light are all faulty.
What can I do about this? Can I get a refund since they havent kept to the warantee.

You need to contact the District representative for whatever brand your car is. Try going online and finding a Customer Service number. When you finally get a human to talk to tell him the problems you are having. Be sure to have ALL of the previous repair order receipts when you call. He/she will ask you some questions to get the ball rolling on your complaint.

How do you do the journal entries if a car dealership sold a car with a trade in?
Lets say the dealer is selling the BMW for 24,000 with original cost of 20,000. And the trade in from the customer is worth 18,000.
So the dealer receives 6,000 cash from this transaction but how is revenue recognized?

Question by prolly: Can a car dealer request to change car after financing approved and contract signed?
I recently purchased a car. After a few weeks of getting everything in to get financing approved the dealer has now called and said that the APR was a promotion for a 2007 model and they sold me a 2008. Do I have to sign a new contract and change cars after the financing has been approved and the contract has been signed?
Thanks so much…I do have possession of the car and I am currently at school 200 miles from the dealership and they want me to come back to sign these new papers…they didn’t even want to tell me what I was signing papers until I continued to ask my reason for coming 200 miles.

No, I think it is time to report what is called “Bait and switch” to the appropriate authorities.
The dealer pulled pulling a switch on you after they baited you (and sunk the hook real good).
If this happened to me I would just call the deal off and look for an honest dealer, this one is not.
