Question by metallic moment: Can one side step the car dealers in their area to buy a new car?
Would like to buy a new vehicle without the hassel of dealing with competing sales people and dealerships that want to deliver sting as well as burn.

Buying a new vehicle should be an enjoyable experience. They should throw out the red carpet and really try to please. Instead, they try to soak you for every dime they can get. Here you are buying a brand new vehicle with dealer warranty and they want you to buy all that other maintenance crap which you don’t want which will raise your payments up and beyond and a myriad of other crap you don’t want. They totally ruin the fun and joy and insult your intelligence to rub salt into the wound. They are the greediest most ungrateful bunch of people and are only thinking about how to serve themselves and not the customer. Where can one get online and find the car they want and purchase without all the hassels of dealing with the dysfunctional situation at the dealerships in their area? Enough already. Sick to death with dealerships!

Question by : Why is the government not helping these car dealers who face closing?
caar dealers who are being shut down: why no stimulus money for them? Would a solution be for the dealers to start a new concept: sell cars, not by brand, but category: dealers who specialize in sporty cars, high fuel mileage cars, trucks, suvs, luxury cars. Would this not work?

Because the government is made up by Americans.

Americans who are tired of the high cost, low quality products from so called “American” car companies, that actually produce most of their stock in Mexico and Canada. Dodge Ram anyone?

Look at Acura, Mazda, and Lexus. Made in America. American company. Doing JUST FINE.

So, it’s not that American car companies are suffering. It’s that the dinosaurs are going extinct. And there’s no reason at all to try to rescue them. They’ve had decades to get their act together. They failed.

Question by Danielle: Does anyone know of any specials car dealers are running right now in the Charlotte, NC area?
My fiance’s car was just totaled, and we are going to have to purchase a new vehicle. I know some dealers run adds like, push, pull, or tow your vehicle in for X amount of dollars, no matter what. She has another truck (a fixer upper) that she might be willing to trade in along with the money she will get from the wreck, but I don’t know who has a good deal going on right now. Any help?

your not really getting a good deal from places like that …your better off selling your old car for as much as u can …then haggle for best price on what u want….go around to different places…dont pick the first one…and dont be afraid to offer them less….dont let the sharks bite ya…lol

Question by sunshine: Can I find out how much a car dealer payed for a specific used car?
I know this car was sold at an auction as a reposession.(According to carfax) I would really like to know how much it went for so I can know how much profit the dealer wants to make.

There is no public reporting of prices at auctions. The only people who know the answer to that question are:

- the auction
- the buyer
- anybody who was at the auction and remembers that particular sale which is unlikely as auctions move anywhere from a few hundred to a few thousand cars a day.

The auctions do report the price to several pricing guide companies – but they are contractually bound to only use the data in bulk so as they can report, for example, the average price on 1999 Honda Accords.

The probem with credit is only for those people with sub-prime credit scores (below about 680-700). People with good credit are not having trouble getting loans. Unfortunately, a large percentage of people who got loans before the credit crunch had credit issues and probably should not have been buying the cars they were buying. Car manufacturers were so eager for the business that they were approving almost anyone. Now they are suffering because a large number of those people are now defaulting on their loans.

Question by Brad J: How long does a new car dealer have to deliver the car after a contract is signed.?
We bought a new car in Nevada and was told that the car was in a nearby city. Before signing the dealer claimed the car would be delivered in 3 days and possibly the following day. Now they say it will be a week or possibly longer. How long does a sales contract remain valid if a car is not delivered as promised???

They make what the market will bear.
For instance do you think they sell alot of cars today? No
There goes down your profit.
Now a few years ago you could get 1,000 or more on new cars and a couple hundred on a used car. Not today, cause if they want to sell a car new they have to bring down the price (Profit margin). Get it?
