Question by Matt: What would be the average monthly price for oil for a car dealership?
Im creating a car company and i need to know what the average monthly cost would be for oil for the dealership. what would it cost?

Impossible to predict. How big a dealership, how many repair bays, how many customers per month? Will you be doing oil changes also? How many per month? What grade(s) the type(s) of oil will you need? Do you plan to buy in bulk? I get mine in 55 gallon drums a lot cheaper than by the quart. I have 5w 30 and 10w 30 which covers 95% if what I need. The other 5% I buy by the gallon, Rotella and various brand names.

Question by Renee: I bought a car from a used car dealer in missouri and now i find out that there is a lien on the car. What do?
I recently purchased a used car from a dealer in branson, mo. The title they gave me to get transfered didnt say anything about a lien but now i have recieved a letter from the state saying there is a lien on the car and i must get a lien release from the bank that has it. What do I do. And is it illegal for the dealer to sell it to me like that.

The dealer cant sell a car with a lien on it (no one can its illegal to do so). Take the car and paperwork back and have the dealer straighten out the lien. Or if he cant return the car and get your money back…………..md

Question by Jolano: What should I wear if I’m walking into a car dealership to get a sales job?
I am a college student, and I’m trying to get a summer job as a sales rep at a car dealership. I was going to walk in to the different dealerships to apply in person, but I’m not sure what to wear. I do live in “Casual California”, so I was thinking a nice polo shirt a jeans would be appropriate, but then I also think it may be a good idea to wear slacks a button up shirt and a tie. Any suggestions?

Question by BMWTech: Why do so many people think that all automotive technicians and car dealers are trying to take your money?
I have been in the field at several different shops- independent, Ford, and now BMW. A lot of the post on here are people bashing on car dealers and technicians saying they are trying to take your money. We have to make a living too along with that we are not all shady.. yes i will agree there are some but not near as many as you might thing. Why do people always blame us when something goes wrong on their car after we worked on it even if it is completely unrelated?

We have to think of creative ways to bring people to a car dealership. I have a few….many of them involving games that start in a mall and end up at the dealership…Do you have any?

My ex works at a car dealership and twice a year they have a big cookout on Saturday. The last one was a fish fry, all the food was free, it got a ton of people to come out and they sold alot of cars that day.

Question by Brandon Potts: When buying a car is it better to get financed through a bank or through the dealership?
Ok so I am 17 and trying to buy my first car ( with the help of my mom of course). But she keeps insisting that we got financed through the used car dealership. I am saying that they would try and cheap us out, because they are in it for the money. I suggest going through a bank. But she still says its better through a dealership. Is there really any difference between being financed through a bank and a dealership. Any advice would be nice thanks.

BANK, unless the dealership has a promotional rate like 2.9% or something less than 5%. Really watch out for them adding costs, selling you extended warranty, glass coverage, tire coverage, Lo Jack, undercoating, rust proofing, etc. Shop around for the best interest rate and DO NOT let them sell you anything, including a lease, at the dealership! I worked at a dealership and their motto is “Catch a sucker and tear his head off.” No kidding.

Question by quepasameng: Why don’t used car dealers take care of the cars they sell?
Like seriously. All the used car dealers i have been to. The oil has been black, the cars have been dirty, and there was always something to repair that would have not cost them a lot to do themselves. Why is this? Do people think a car with minor repairs needed makes the car more negotiable, that way they think they are getting a good deal when they are not? Does dirt hide imperfections?

they move them in and out so fast, it dosent really matter if they clean them. people buy used cars because they can afford new ones

i want to start a mobile car wash and i want to know how often car dealers wash new cars,their is about 7 car dealerships within five minute from my apartment.how much should i charge and what equipment i need and is it good business idea——sorry about my english is not my first language

Once or twice a week, depending on the weather. I am in the Bay Area in CA. You need a truck, tanks, filters, pump, and chamois and 2 or 3 employees. I don’t know what to charge, depends on your area.
