Question by Dwasifar K: When you finance a car through the dealer, how much commission does the dealer get from the lender?
I know the car dealer makes a commission on the note. But I don’t know how much that is. Is it commonly a percentage, or a flat fee, or what?

Question by cktalons: Does a car dealer have to sell his personal car through his dealership?
I am looking at buying a car from a private party, but he says that because he is a used car dealer he is required to sell it though his dealership. Is that true?

The car is in Washington state.

I am not sure. But you would think that if he sold it through the dealer ship where he works then part of the money would be going to that company.
